Rainbow Health Australia and Our Watch are proud to launch Changing with pride: A national framework to prevent violence against LGBTIQA+ people.
This framework builds on Pride in Prevention and Change the Story, and decades of advocacy by LGBTIQA+ organisations and communities. It will help strengthen efforts to prevent gender-based violence across Australia, and support more people and organisations to contribute to lasting social change.
To stop violence against LGBTIQA+ people before it starts, it is critical to identify and address the underlying drivers of violence – the specific social factors that make violence more likely and enable it to continue.
This framework describes the drivers of violence against LGBTIQA+ people and how these overlap with the drivers of men’s violence against women.
This framework serves as a companion document to Change the Story and was informed by Rainbow Health Australia's Pride in Prevention.
